In this month in nuclear history...



February 1977: A combination of design problems and human mistakes during a fuel change cause the worst nuclear in Czech history. Just a year earlier, a malfunction during fuel replacement led to a carbon dioxide leak that killed 2 workers.

Feb. 199, Connecticut: A leaking valve causes equipment failures and a shutdown at the Millstone Nuclear Power Station.


Feb,m 2002: Ohio: Maintenance workers discover that corrosion has creaetd a football-sized hole in a nuclear reactor.
