With Time Running Out To Cut Carbon From Buildings, Industry Just Tightened Its Grip | HuffPost: Mundane as it may seem, the future of U.S. climate policy could rest on what happens over the next few years with national building codes.



Buildings are major emitters, which means we need building codes — updated every 3 years — to eliminate fossil fuel use. But the private consortium that writes codes for the U.S. just gave gas utilities new power to dictate what’s in the 2024 codes.
