The Ends of White Supremacy

 In the early twentieth-century, ethnicities and nationalities such as Irish, Italians, Poles, Russians, and Jews were believed to form distinct 'races'. If white supremacy had its way, unchallenged by black and immigrant activists and others in the struggle, and we used such definitions today, it would reclassify all but a few US citizens as nonwhite.
